Hi guys

Hi guys
I am wondering how to remove the ducktail spoiler on the S12. I know this one on the junkyard in the UK and a member there is going to take it off me for.
I´m nearly shure, that you will not have muc hfun with this ducktail. I fixed my one with Sikaflex, a car body glue (Hope you understand what I mean)
To give you an answer:
Normally, there are little steel plates mith bolts on them into the ducktail. But on my Silvia they were only rust. And the tail is destroyed at the contact area between steel and synthetic.
To remove it, your ried has to remove some coverings and just unlock all the nuts holding the ducktail.
But I think he wil destroy the whole tail or he take a lnger time, some heat, WD40, .... to remove it with much love and spend a lot of time.
Just my two cent, hope I help.
What about the taillights and the piece between them? Could he grab them for me?
Sorry mate already reserved those too for spares.
The ducktail is needed to make a mold of to reproduce fiberglass ducktail spoiler to put on the GP after respray.
So it will not rust there again.
Improving the OE Nissan design
Thanks for your answers though.
Only one for you or some more?
Good qustion, the others are: - how much money
- where to order
- when to order
please 'some more'
Yes of course more. Helping out the community.
First I need a spare ducktail, and my buddy needs a room to work with the poly.
Then he needs to produce one and then we can get a price for the labour.
Mark, if you only need the spoiler to take a mold from it, here's another option which you could pick up yourself;

It has a small tear on top (left side) but I imagine that shouldn't have to be a problem when taking a mold.
The car is located in Belgium, just across the border under Roosendaal.
I bought some parts off it last week, the owner of the junkyard is a nice guy to deal with
The tear in the spoiler kept me from buying it as I have no idea how to neatly repair the rubber-like stuff
As for removing it; I assume you have the Nissan workshop manual aswell? Check out page 534 for a drawing of the mountingpoints. But like Kaffeejunkie already mentioned, expect some rusty bolts! Your best bet would probably be to bring a dremel/angle grinder or to just buy the whole backwindow and bring it home so you can work on it properly
Can't wait to see what you come up with!
Went to the junkyard today. The spoiler came off very easy. Took alot off other stuff too so have some spares for the GP :d
so, when will the replica finished?
tomorrow, today, yesterday
It all depends on when my buddy has time to do it and he needs a place to work with the fibreglass first.
When there is one made we know what it will cost and guessing it takes a month to make some others.
Some News?

Nice sparewheel
May you have another pic off his cold air intake / modded bonnet ?
May you argue to some of your mates to also come to the sxce? Would be great
